At Vibrant Hawaiʻi, we firmly believe in the power of conversation to guide our waʻa (canoe) toward a collective vision of stronger, healthier communities. Vibrant Hawaiʻi CEO, Janice Ikeda, recently had the privilege of participating in a meaningful talk story session with Paul Normann, Executive Director of Neighborhood Place of Puna, and Andrew Kahili of YWCA Hawaiʻi Island. This intimate and insightful conversation, facilitated by Dawn Mahi, Senior Program Officer at Consuelo Zobel Alger Foundation centered on strategies to prevent child abuse and neglect by focusing on building and nurturing thriving, connected communities.

Vibrant Hawaiʻi is deeply grateful to the Consuelo Foundation for their unwavering commitment to the well-being of children, families, and communities, both in Hawaiʻi and the Philippines. Through their compassionate, community-driven work, they continue to inspire us to create spaces where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Their dedication reminds us that by working together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of those who need it most.

As we reflect on this talk story, we are reminded of the importance of collaboration, compassion, and community in creating lasting change. We look forward to continuing these vital conversations and working together to build a brighter, more connected future for all.
