VIBRANT HAWAIʻI ACTION FRAMEWORK

He ʻike ʻana i ka pono. One has seen the right thing to do and has done it.

ʻŌlelo Noʻeau 620.

Vibrant Hawaiʻi Core Teams are an incubator for leadership development and living aloha. It is a place where emerging and developing leaders are invited to work alongside seasoned, strategic leaders to address urgent needs, implement scaled solutions, and grow in their capacity as system change agents and innovators.

Guided by a Convener and fueled by Contributors, Core Teams integrate principles of diversity, collaboration, and transformation into facilitated, 90-day action cycles that culminate with hikaloi, or self reflection, and a Core Team After Action Review to develop strategic learning cycles and inform our theory of change.

The explicit goal of Core Teams is to shift indicators and improve outcomes for our community in the areas of economy, education, health and wellbeing, housing, and resilience. Our implicit goal is to build capacity, confidence, and identity as a contributor.

At the end of a project we want people to say, “I had a conversation with someone I never would have before, we took action on something that we never would have done alone, and I now have a different perspective and approach to community change. As a result of this project, I believe that I have the ability to make my community a better place, and I am likely to do something like this again.”
