Housing Coalition Chair, Darryl Oliveira will provide updates about the Housing Coalition and share information on ways to get involved.
ʻʻĀina Back" is about returning land to Native communities — not just to right historic wrongs, but to restore deep relationships with the ʻāina that have existed for generations. For Kānaka Maoli (Native Hawaiians), land is more than property. It’s the foundation of culture, identity, and well-being.
But this isn’t just a Native issue — it’s a community issue. All of us who call Hawaiʻi Island home are connected to the land. As we face growing challenges like displacement, environmental degradation, and the loss of cultural knowledge, the Land Back movement invites us to imagine a future rooted in care, respect, and shared responsibility.
