Hurricane Season Checklist

What can you do right NOW to keep you and your ʻohana ready for emergencies.

Plan Ahead

☐ Review your homeowners or renters insurance.
☐ Sign up for emergency alerts and download weather apps.
☐ Know your evacuation route and family communication plan.

Build Your Emergency Kit

☐ Stock 14 days of water, food, medications, and pet supplies.
☐ Refresh your Go Bag.
☐ Include flashlights, batteries, a radio, first aid kit, and phone chargers.

Prepare Your Home

☐ Trim hazardous trees and clear gutters and drainage areas.
☐ Photograph or video your home and valuables for insurance.
☐ Secure important documents in a waterproof container.

☐ Do your laundry and put extra pair of dry clothing, bedding, and linens in garbage bags to keep dry.

Prepare for Power Outages

☐ Keep your vehicle at least half full of gas.
☐ Charge phones and backup batteries.

☐ Test generators or portable power stations and use generators only outdoors.
