A USDA Summer Food Service Program
About the Program
Since 2021, Vibrant Hawaiʻi has served as the Sponsor Agency for the USDA Summer Food Service Program, Kaukau 4 Keiki, for the County of Hawaiʻi.
In partnership with 29 sites islandwide, Kaukau 4 Keiki 2025 will go from June 16 through July 25 distributing breakfast and lunch food supplies to an estimated 5,300 keiki for 6 weeks.

USDA's Seamless Summer Option (SSO) Program
Free summer meals to children ages 18 and younger, starting June 12. Meals are available Monday through Friday. Children do not need to be enrolled in public school to participate.
Breakfasts will be served from 7:15 to 8:45 a.m. and lunches from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
There will be no service on the July 4 state holiday.
To qualify for the SSO program, schools must have at least 50% of students eligible for free or reduced-price lunch and host a summer program on campus. Parents may call their nearest participating school directly for details.

Disclaimer: Children receiving meals from an SSO (Seamless Summer Option) site are not eligible to receive meals through Kaukau 4 Keiki (K4K), and vice versa.
