Our Youth Ambassadors are continuing to travel across Hawaiʻi Island, leading Adulting 101 Workshops designed to equip keiki and ʻōpio with practical, life-ready skills. These sessions have ranged from Designing a Professional Profile to essential trainings such as Hands-Only CPR and AED use.

"In school, it helps them see that learning is not only about books, but also about real-world skills that make a difference. Outside the classroom, we hope they carry this knowledge into their homes and kaiāulu, knowing they have the ability, and the kuleana, to care for others," Kumu Maile Mangauil, Kanu o ka ʻĀina NCPCS.

Last week, our Youth Ambassadors visited Kanu O ka ʻĀina Middle School, where 40 students learned life-saving skills in Hands-Only CPR and AED response. The keiki showed genuine curiosity and commitment as they practiced, recognizing the importance of being able to step up for their community in times of need.

"Having grown up in the Honokaʻa–Waimea community, it’s an honor to return and teach the keiki such a critial life skill. In these workshops, we remind them that life-threatening situations can happen at any moment, and knowing CPR could mean the difference in saving someone’s life," Hemi Martinez, Vibrant Hawaiʻi Ambassador

Each workshop is a reminder that Hawaiʻi’s keiki and ʻōpio not only have the ability to learn these skills, but also the heart to apply them—taking action for their own lives, their ʻohana, and their community.
