Meet a few of our past Ambassadors!

Benjamin Rudo is a 21-year-old student born and raised in Keaʻau. He currently attends UH Hilo and is pursuing a degree in chemistry and biology. He finds joy in anything outdoors, engaging with the community, and sharing the privilege of learning. “My roots in the community have grown deeper. I feel like I have a much stronger foundation for success. I know professionals I can consult for advice and organizations I can collaborate with on projects. I am far more comfortable engaging with strangers and creating conversations. Ultimately, I feel prepared to exceed in any setting whether professional, personal, formal or informal.”

Cienna Marie Corpuz, is a 22 year old born and raised in Pepeʻekeo. She graduated from Waiākea High School in 2019, and later attended San Diego State University to pursue her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, which she earned in May 2023. “Overall, I feel more empowered and confident in my ability to perform and improve. The people I have met through this internship have done a wonderful job in supporting and encouraging me every step of the way, and in turn, it enabled me to step into my potential.”

Trevondrick Francis, 22, was raised on the Hāmākua coast, graduating from Honokaʻa High School in 2019. He recently earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Certificate in Education in May of 2023. “Every day I found myself smiling because I found a place to truly grow experience, connections, and knowledge after college. As an Ambassador, I was connected to several islandwide organizations and community leaders who tackle a variety of issues including the Vibrant Hawaiʻi Housing Coalition, Hawaiʻi Island Psychological Association, and the East Hawaiʻi Drug-Free Coalition, to name a few. Being more involved in community decision-making is something I want to prioritize in the next steps of my career."
